Preparation for Climbing Ijen Crater
The Ijen Crater climb has a medium level of difficulty but can still be done by beginners with normal physical condition. Some preparation tips:
- Clothing: Wear warm, layered clothing (temperatures can reach 5°C in the morning)
- Shoes: Wear trekking shoes or sports shoes with good grip
- Mask: Although we provide gas masks, bring a buff or additional mask to protect against sulfur dust
- Flashlight/headlamp: The climb is done early in the morning in dark conditions
