Itinerary Bali Bromo Sewu Ijen Bali Tou 4 Days
Day 1 – Pick Up Bali – Ferry Crossing – Bromo Hotel
Our driver will pick you up in the morning around 09:00 am from your hotel in Bali. You will then head west to Gilimanuk Harbour to catch the ferry crossing to Ketapang Harbour (Java). From Ketapang, continue the journey by car to your hotel near Mount Bromo National Park. Estimated arrival at the hotel is around 20:00, where you will check in and rest for the night.
Day 2 : Mount Bromo Sunrise Tour – Sewu Homestay
Your day starts very early at about 03:00. A Jeep will pick you up from the hotel and drive you up to the sunrise viewpoint — either Penanjakan or Kingkong Hill — to witness the sunrise at around 05:15 over Mount Bromo and its surroundings.
After sunrise, the Jeep continues to the Bromo Sea of Sand where you can either walk or rent a horse to reach the entrance of the Bromo crater. Once you’ve enjoyed the crater and its unique landscape, return to the Jeep parking area and head back to the hotel for breakfast, shower, and check-out. At 11:00, depart from Bromo and drive for about 5 hours to the homestay near Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. Check in and rest for the night.
Day 3 : Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Tour – Ijen Hotel
Breakfast begins around 07:00 followed by the Tumpak Sewu Waterfall adventure. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll explore the panoramic viewpoints, descend to the base of the waterfall, and visit Tetes Cave, a fascinating natural cave formation nearby.
This activity usually lasts until around 11:00, after which you return to your homestay to pack and check out. The next destination is the hotel near Ijen, about 4 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check in and rest.
Day 4 : Ijen Blue Fire Tour – Drop Off Bali
The most exciting day begins at 23:30. After packing your luggage and checking out, you will drive toward the Ijen climbing post (Paltuding) — approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, complete your climbing permit and start the trek to the Ijen crater with a local guide. The hike to the crater rim is about 3 km and usually takes 1.5–2 hours. From the crater rim, descend to the crater floor to see the blue fire phenomenon — a rare natural glowing flame caused by burning sulfuric gases. As dawn breaks, you will climb back up to enjoy the spectacular view of the acidic turquoise crater lake.
After descending to the trailhead, our driver will take you back to Bali, ending this fulfilling tour.
Important Notes
- Health Certificate: To climb Ijen, you need a health certificate valid for 24 hours. This can be arranged at your hotel prior to departure for about IDR 40,000. The check includes blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Physical Condition: The tour involves moderate walking and hiking at high altitude — appropriate footwear and basic fitness are recommended.
